Job Description


We are currently seeking an accounting analyst to support all aspects of the cost accounting function, including monthly and quarterly close procedures over the inventory-related accounts, reviewing inventory cycle and physical counts, and the support of budgeting and analysis over profitability. This role collaborates with other members of the Accounting and Finance teams, as well as senior management, other departments including Supply Chain, Customer Service, Manufacturing and Operations and external and internal auditors.


* Assisting with an accurate monthly, quarterly and annual close process as it pertains to the cost accounting function.
* Responsible for reconciling inventory & general ledger accounts.
* Performing detailed calculations and analysis to determine the inventory reserves for lower of cost or market analysis, as well as excess/obsolete inventory positions.
* Providing comprehensive material and purchase price variance analysis on a monthly basis.
* Assisting with forecasting and the annual budget preparation process relating to cost of sales and product margins.
* Anticipating and reporting on monthly variances by product class & customer, including margin impact.
* Supporting both our internal and external auditors with requests including monitoring and SOX efforts.
* Providing input for process improvements to the inventory and fixed assets activities to support a timely and accurate accounting close.
* Ability to understand IT systems in place, and seek out IT solutions to create efficiencies in financial reporting while maintaining accordance with SOX.
* Assisting with special projects, and cross training in other areas as needed.



Work is performed in a normal office environment with minimal physical risks involved. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.

Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis

* Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
* 1-2+ years accounting or relevant experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment


* Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills
* Ability to work with minimal supervision
* Proficient in MS Office
* Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred
* Ability to be flexible and able to function comfortably in a fast paced, constantly changing, and ambiguous environment while maintaining a positive team environment
* Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands
* Understanding and experience in Lean manufacturing environment preferred. Participate in continuous improvement projects and 5S related performance teams.
* A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills with high ethical standards and a positive professional image.
