Job Description

Setup, install, repair, renovate, maintain, fit and assemble production, mechanical and miscellaneous equipment, metal parts of machinery and equipment, sheet metal and iron items, heat exchangers, power, heating, cooling, sewage, etc., pipe systems, pipe insulation, wood and allied material, masonry, concreted, etc. structures as required. Regularly perform all duties as described for Maintenance Mechanic. Perform similar duties of, or assist, other crafts to expedite completion of assigned job and perform other typical duties consistent with the job factors as required or that may be requested by supervision. Must attend classes when provided by Company for improvement of above services or to increase teammate’s knowledge of a specific machine, machine part or service equipment. Shift work is required.Firestone Industrial Products, specializes in air spring manufacturing and technology with a history of more than 80 years of research and development on technologically advanced air springs for the global marketplace. Firestone engineers air springs and related products for commercial trucks and trailers, cars, sport utility vehicles, light trucks, mini vans, motor homes, buses, agricultural equipment, rail and industrial applications.

Working knowledge of:

Industrial electrical systems (Installation and Maintenance)

Metal working machines

PLC’s (Modicon or Allen Bradley preferred)

Common tool bench

Welding

Production machinery

Properties of various metals

Fluid Power (Systems, Applications and Troubleshooting)

Machine Maintenance (Repair, Preventive/Predictive Maintenance and Trouble shooting)

Know all phases of equipment and building maintenance, repair, installation and renovation.

Required to read blueprints, written specs, micro-meters, verniers and other precision instruments. Have knowledge of shop mathematics, use of charts and tables, dimensions of standard bolts, threads and tapers.

4 years manufacturing maintenance experience or 2 years manufacturing maintenance experience and 2 year technical training and/or 2 year associates degree
