Requirements:

College degree preferred, but not necessary, with demonstrated skills and knowledge in stockroom and material handling processes. Should have familiarity with inventory maintenance and material handling processes. "Just In Time/Lean Manufacturing" background is a definite plus! Must possess demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office products and relational inventory databases. Must be able to lift and move heavy items (up to a weight of 70 lbs). Two years supervisory experience is desirable. Strong interpersonal, decision-making, communication and organizational skills are essential, along with demonstrated initiative and a willingness to learn, as well as to train others.

Job Skills:

As a leader of the Materials Team, the Stockroom Supervisor is responsible for contributing to and continually improving an efficient and cost-effective process designed to assist all other Team members in their stockroom needs, in compliance with company policies and procedures. As a contributing member of the team, they are committed to the common purpose, performance goals and approach for which team members hold themselves mutually accountable. Performance evaluation is based on a combination of team success and individual accomplishment.

Primary Function:

Coordinates the daily operations of the company stockroom, which provides a wide variety of products utilized by company Team members. The position works closely with all departments. Organization is a key factor in this position.

Work Performed:

Oversees stockroom employees. Oversees, evaluates and recommends Continuous Improvement process enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce costs for stockroom and material handling operations. Leads the implementation effort for the approved process enhancements. JIT/Lean Mfg. background is a plus! Assists in the determination and identification of excess stocking levels, trends and obsolete items. Serves as a knowledgeable source regarding the "overall" operation of the stockroom and material handling. Provides training to staff, troubleshoots operational problems, makes recommendations for improvements, utilizes Team members for ideas, and tests new ideas prior to implementation. With the Documentation Department, integrates new products and new product components into inventory. Works with the Director of Operations to establish material handling methodology for new products. Has oversight and is responsible for the physical inventory of products and adjustments. Daily activities apply an understanding of "overall" operational processes and practices, as does the participation in the month end and year-end reconciliation of Physical Inventory results to the general ledger. Has oversight and is responsible for cost effectiveness associated with all stockroom and material handling activity. Ensures adequate coverage of the Stockroom. Works with material handling equipment, hand tools, scales, banding, and other general office equipment, as well as Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, etc.).
May perform other related duties and provide support to other Team members, as the Director of Operations may, from time to time, deem necessary.
