Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Office Manager/Office Coordinator directs the receptionist staff to facilitate
and provide quality patient care in an outpatient setting. May communicate with patients ranging in age from 0 to
100+.

1. Meets all standards of the Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria in order to make AH the hospital of choice for Patients and Employees.

2. Orients, trains and supervises the receptionist staff to provide efficient and productive operational flow. Works collaboratively with office manager for input on Human Resources issues as well as yearly employee evaluations.

3. Maintains fiscal integrity by coordinating the collecting, recording and posting of charges and payments in the computer. Audits the reconciliation process to insure accuracy of payments and other financial controls.

4. Uses good guest relations and telecommunication skills to greet, check-in, and checkout patients for the purpose of gathering accurate demographic and insurance information.

5. Coordinates the HMO referral process to maintain compliance with managed care guidelines, as applicable.

6. Ensures adequate levels of medical office supplies to facilitate the smooth operation of the office.

7. Demonstrates initiative with departmental activities to ensure quality services are provided in a cost-effective manner.

8. Performs receptionist duties as backup to assigned personnel to maintain office coverage.

9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Part time, days

A. Experience:
3-5 years medical office experience preferred.
B. Education & Training:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in healthcare or related field preferred.
C. License, Certification & Registration:
Achieve Healthcare Provider CPR Certification from the American Heart Association within 90 days of employment and maintain certification thereafter. As of July 1, 2011 a valid Driver's License is required for practices with multiple offices.
D. Other Requirements:
Professional conduct and appearance, leadership qualities, interpersonal communication skills, good phone and computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology.

Conditions of Employment

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
