Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for monthly accounting and reporting duties within the Corporate Accounting function, including but not limited to, acquisitions, divestitures and special transactions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assist in the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring transactions are in accordance with US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley and internal policies and procedures
* Create and enter journal entries into the General Ledger (SAP) and Corporate Consolidation Ledger (HFM)
* Reconcile general ledger and consolidation accounts using both Excel and Blackline for this multi-national company
* Provide support for public filing footnote disclosures
* Evaluate financial policies and procedures and suggest improvements
* Collaborate with other finance department staff and other businesses and departments to support overall finance department goals, initiatives and directives
* Work with internal and external auditors on document requests

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

* Highly motivated, self-starter with a commitment to quality and integrity

* Strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
* Ability to work independently
* Strong understanding of US GAAP
* Maintain organized and detailed files documenting accounting issues, processes, procedures and resolutions
* Continually evaluate work to ensure adherence to appropriate business controls are followed in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley procedures
* Participate in additional accounting related projects as requested by management

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
* A minimum of 3-5 years accounting experience
* Experience working in a consumer products and retail industry is preferred
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
* SAP and Hyperion Financial Management experience is strongly preferred
