Job Description

Amazon is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to be part of the US Outbound International Tax reporting team at its Seattle headquarters. The candidate will focus on US international income tax reporting and compliance (including tax return preparation of 5471s/8858s; Corptax international administration, automation, testing, and audit support), the international aspects of the US GAAP worldwide income tax provision, and tax reform. The senior tax analyst will be responsible for compliance process design and improvements, automation of recurring calculations, modeling of tax reform implications, and process documentation. A successful candidate in this role should be a highly organized self-starter and team player, able to quickly grasp income tax accounting concepts, and experienced in data modelling and project management.

Primary job duties include:

* Primarily responsible for US International reporting and compliance obligations (Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, Form 1120F etc.)
* Corptax international administration, automation, testing, and audit support.
* Create and update user guides, process flow charts, development plans, and operating procedures.
* Drive process improvements and coordinate with internal Tax Technology Team to facilitate streamlining and automation of recurring calculations.
* Research and understand potential tax legislation and participate in modeling different scenarios.
* Support US and international tax controversy teams on tax audits.
* Prepare or review international aspects of Amazon's worldwide provision.
* 4+ years of experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field.
* Bachelor's degree.
* 3+ years of direct tax experience with international income tax compliance/reporting.
* Strong Corptax international tax preparation and administrative software skills.
* Exceptional Excel Modeling skills; experience working through large data sets; Knowledge of Table Structure and Pivot Tables.
* Knowledge of federal income taxation of international transactions.
* Direct tax modeling and process development experience.
* Proficiency in at least one data-focused technology tool, such as Python, SQL, Alteryx, advanced Excel, VBA, Amazon QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, or similar, is helpful.
* Experience working with technical and non-technical teams.
* Strong tax operational background and ability to drive process improvements.
* Highly motivated and organized; excellent attention to detail.
* CPA, or other professional certification.
