Role Summary

Join our team as a Staff Accountant for Stanly Ranch and become one of the authors of our story serving the needs of the business, our guests and our colleagues. Participate in meeting the needs of our managers and employees by providing quick and accurate service in a professional manner. The Staff Accountant performs a variety of accounting duties according to established company policies and procedures including posting appropriate entries in payroll, accounts payable and receivable systems. Provides administrative support to the Director of Finance and General Manager as required and prepares reports and reconciliations.

The Staff Accountant oversees all accounts receivable functions for the resort including transient, group, catering, and members. They serve as the main communication for resort member billing inquiries and monthly statement communications while actively overseeing accounts receivable aging to ensure timely recovery of collections and prevent loss and aging of billed items.

Core Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

* Completes regular collection efforts of past, current and future accounts and maintains call log records on outstanding accounts.

* Completes a regular accounts receivable overview meeting with ADOF at least monthly to report out on all account statuses.

* Oversees and keeps organized the guest ledger, advance deposit ledger, and group ledgers.

* Communicates with other departments to ensure billing matters are proactively improved and problems are prevented.

* Ensures and strives for billing accuracy

* Keeps records organized, timely and up to date

* Participates in month close work as needed

* Supports accounting team members in other areas as needed

* Daily update of internal spreadsheets

* Reviewing the output of financial reports for accuracy

* Entering Accounts Payable invoices

* Preparing, reviewing, and updating payroll spreadsheets

* Assisting with physical inventory counts

* Preparing intercompany invoices/bills

* Preparing complete folio recaps for group billing

* Daily filing of all paperwork

* Assisting with Accounts Receivable follow-up via phone and email

* Performs administrative duties for the Executive Team as required

Required Qualifications

* Bright and enthusiastic demeanor that is approachable to coworkers
* Critical and forward-thinking skills

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

* Proficiency in computers and information technology

* Strong communication and analytical skills with proven ability to work with clients while creating positive relationships on behalf of the company

* Strong math/accounting aptitude and related audit skills

* High School diploma or equivalent required

* Flexible schedule and ability to work holidays as needed
