About the Role:

The Tax Accountant is responsible for tax compliance and reporting matters for certain of Swiss Re's US companies and related special purpose vehicles, as assigned. The Tax Accountant, in conjunction with Group Tax Operations and outside providers, prepares and in some cases reviews the entities' federal, state, and other tax return filings, including extensions and payments, ensuring all filings are accurate, complete, and made on a timely basis. The Tax Accountant is also responsible for preparing the entities' US GAAP, US Stat (if relevant), and other financial tax reporting information, and collaborates with Swiss Re's local and global finance teams to ensure the entities' tax accounts are calculated and reported timely and accurately. The Tax Accountant also assists the broader team on matters related to state and local taxation, including research and compliance activities related to income, sales and use, premium, and other taxes as needed.

The Tax Accountant stays aware of developments in the tax technology space and helps see opportunities to improve our tax data integrity, enhance our analytical capabilities, and enable task automation.

Finally, the Tax Accountant assists with research projects as needed, and participates with other tax colleagues and management in planning to minimize taxes consistent with Swiss Re's overall standards and objectives.
